CRANFIELD & MARSTON MORETAINE

Labour – rebuilding Cranfield and Marston Moretaine for the many, not the few…

As a local father, husband and small business owner, I have proudly lived in both Cranfield and Marston Moretaine for the past 20 years.

I am passionate about many issues, including –
Social groups: our elderly are often neglected and lonely, our youth are frequently ignored. Together we can open a dialogue with both groups to address their social needs and community involvement.
Crime: we have all noticed the dramatic rise in crime recently. I will work with police, our community, and associated groups to help reduce the risks, and increase our safety.
Roads: as taxpayers, we should be able to use roads without damaging our vehicles, or risk causing accidents. I will push for a better response and improved repair process for our failing road network.
Environment: littering and dog fouling are constant issues. I will work to find affordable long-term solutions, so we can all, once again, take pride in our public spaces.
I will also promote green spaces within our community, providing natural habitat zones both for wildlife and for peoples' rest and relaxation.

Margaret has recently retired after a career in quality management and environmental management.  A widow with two adult sons who both attended local schools, she has lived in Cranfield for over 30 years, and has been active in the Labour Party in that time.

She has been a Parish Councillor, a school governor, and is currently secretary of the Cranfield Village Hall Committee.

Margaret says; “I have contested many local elections in the Cranfield and Marston ward, believing strongly that Labour supporters deserve to see a Labour candidate on the ballot paper.”

Michelle is chair of Brogborough Village Hall, treasurer of the local lower school PTA and currently serving as a Parish Councillor– through this she is aware of the issues that affect residents in this ward.

She says; "The community in which I raise my children is of the utmost importance to me – I stand in opposition to further industrial development at Greensands Ridge and Marston Gate, and fully support the proposal to extend Fulbrook Middle School to age 16."
