Coming from a Trades Union and public service background, Barry values the ideals of community and society. He wants to make local government more inclusive and collaborative and build a sense of co-operation in the ward. He means to do this by building movements within local schools, halls, and businesses which will mean that local people will work for each other in a unified way.

He says: “Together we are stronger.”

Since moving to Harlington in 2013 to raise her family, Rhiannon has become actively involved in many aspects of the local community. Her daughter goes to Harlington Lower School where she is on the school's PTA committee.

She is the secretary of the Bedfordshire Rail Access Network campaign which is pressing for improved access at train stations across Bedfordshire. Within the Mid Bedfordshire Labour party, she has a role supporting and encouraging women members, and she stood as the local Labour candidate in the General Election of 2017.
Rhiannon says: “People are rightly passionate about our villages: about protecting our public services, maintaining and improving what we have, about striking a balance between sustainability, growth, and maintaining the integrity of village communities by protecting our green space.

"As a councillor for Toddington Ward, I will aim to be approachable and to be a strong local advocate for our community. I will be accountable to you."
